Something just dawned on me this morning.
Sophie knows "give it too me" and I never taught it to her. An example of her "THINKING"
She is 15 weeks old She has been doing this for a couple of weeks now. Dummy me .... I'm just now noticing.
When she picks up things (as all puppies will no matter how 'puppy proof the house & floor & everything is supposed to be) she brings it to me. Or if I notice she has something I don't want her to have (like my shoe, while I'm still half asleep in the morning) I say "bring it to me" and she does, then she lets go of it as soon as I put my hand on it. Hmmmmm ....... I think I'm on to something here. I can go with this to get her to bring me my shoes. And from there to other things? Will let you know how this works.
Now for a clue ... or two.
We play fetch early in the morning instead of the "Power walk". The command is "Fetch", normal, right? She still wants to hang on to it, instead of giving it to me. The command is "let me have it" THEN she gives it to me.
She has finally stopped thinking Tom's slippers are a toy. HE seldom used them when she first came here. AND she has never chewed anything up .... yet. The command to get them back was the same as in fetch. | |

Good morning. Say vic, I just went into my "organize my email box" that AOL has. there are some email letters that I have never opened in there. This was one of them. hmmm. How did this happen?
AOL must have downloaded some emails into my computer when my computer was left on that day. Gee I am sorry. I better check them all.
This is a good letter to post in our SHEPALUTE site, so I will do that. These dogs are so naturally smart and yours in particular.
love ya Lois | |

Wow, that is a really neat story. I think this Citara thinks like that. I can see her wheels turning as I speak to her. I'm thinking it must be the same for your Sophie. Do you have a picture of Sophie? I'd love to see her as you talk about her life with you.
